This scholarship program is made possible by a generous grant from Petco Love Lost.
The Missing Animal Response Network (MARN) offers training in lost pet recovery work. We are looking to expand our network by recruiting volunteers willing to help recover lost pets in currently underserved communities across North America. We are targeting specific areas in North America where we need MAR-trained teams including the mid-west, the west coast, and several provinces in Canada.
In April 2021, MARN received a generous grant from Petco Love Lost specifically to train 75 individuals willing to offer hands-on, boots-on-the-ground lost pet recovery assistance to pet owners who’ve lost a dog or cat. All students selected for the program will be placed in, at no cost to them, an 8-week online MAR Course (valued at $400.00). MARN will issue ten (10) Team Scholarships where up to five (5) people from one organization will be trained (valued at $2,000). There will also be at least twenty-five (25) Individual Scholarships awarded to individual volunteers.
Here is a list of the states and provinces where MARN is currently accepting scholarship applications from. If you live in any one of these locations, you are eligible to submit a scholarship application:
CANADA – British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Southeast Manitoba, and Quebec
USA – Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
To apply, please fill out the below application which includes the submission of an essay (500 to 2,000 words) where you explain why you want to be trained in MAR work and why believe that YOU (or your team) deserve a scholarship.
