When I first contacted Tracey, my cat, Chance had been missing for 4 weeks. We had just moved into a new townhouse and at 5:30am I let him outside to go to the bathroom. I accidentally fell asleep while giving him “a minute.” When I woke up around 6:10 I panicked and searched the bushes and neighbor’s houses behind us. I thought for sure he would come back soon because he would get hungry. Days passed and he didn’t come home. I had been doing everything that I could think of and following all the suggestions people gave me. I had been searching every wooded area around me, checking back yards, searching in the early morning and late at night. I called down the storm drains and knocked on doors. I placed flyers on every door step in my neighborhood and the neighborhoods that surrounded us. I also gave flyers to the local businesses and posted online. I was setting up traps but catching all the wrong cats. Thankfully this is when I was introduced to Tracey through her website.
The first question Tracey asked me was where I thought my cat went/would go. There was always a gut feeling that Chance had crawled into a storm drain and couldn’t get out. He loved to be in the drains where we used to live before moving. Tracey came to my house and did a little recon of her own. She was so gracious by lending me her trail cam! We were able to weed out all leads by figuring out the cats in the area where I was currently searching. She kept saying that she didn’t think my cat was at the spot I was searching but close to home. By this time it was 4 and a half weeks and I was exhausted from spending hours searching, chasing all different leads and finding out that the cats I was trapping were not him. I felt frustrated and lost. I was almost on the verge of giving up. Tracey kept encouraging me and believing. I started thinking he had died. Finally, at week 5, I got a phone call at 7:30pm that a cat was trying to climb out of the storm drain by my house. I ran down the street and it was him! He was too terrified and weak to come to me but I put the trap down the drain (with permission and lots of help from the local police, fire department and neighbors) and was able to catch him the next day with Tracey’s guidance! It was truly a miracle. There are so many more details to this story but I believe I hit the most important. I truly believe God brought Chance home because in just a few days he would have been dead. Had I not had Tracey’s guidance and knowledge I would not have him back today. It was so emotional and I am so thankful for everything that Tracey did. She’s truly amazing!
