MISSING ANIMAL RESPONSE NETWORK (MARN)
ATTENDANCE, MATERIAL USAGE, and CANCELLATION POLICIES
It is your responsibility to read and understand our policies before registering.
DEFINITIONS
“Cancellation” is defined as not attending your scheduled course, seminar, training, or boot camps, including postponing or rescheduling.
“You” refers to the guest booking a MARN.
“We” refers to MARN Staff.
GROUP COURSE ATTENDANCE POLICY
Students may not miss more than twenty percent (20%) of the class meetings to successfully complete any MAR Course. Students can miss one class for an 8-week course and up to two classes for a 10-week course. If a student misses more than 20% of the meetings, they must schedule makeup classes (at their expense) to complete the course.
For example, if an 8-week student were to miss two class meetings, they would need to schedule a one-on-one meeting/review of the second missed class at an additional cost of $25.
MATERIAL USAGE POLICY
All content is the property of Missing Animal Response Network. MAR material is presented for you to use in your learning only. Unless specifically stated, it is not to be shared or distributed to others. No material is to be shared in print, audio, verbal, or any other form without the written consent of MARN
CANCELLATION POLICY
Once you have registered for a MAR training course, no refunds will be issued. Depending on when you cancel, cancellation fees may apply as follows:
GROUP COURSE POLICY
- If you cancel more than 30 days (1 month) before your course start date, 100% of your fee may be applied to another course, or you may transfer your registration to another person at no charge.
- If you cancel 30 days or less before your course start date, 50% of your fee will be applied to another course, or you may transfer your registration to another person for a $25.00 registration fee.
- If you cancel on or after the class start date, you are considered a member of that class. It will be at the sole discretion of MARN staff if you will be able to join another class, on a space-available basis, to complete your training.
- If you have registered with a split payment and you withdraw from the course, you are still responsible to pay for the entire course. This is because the space in a course (that you took) was reserved for you (and denied someone else who could’ve paid for that spot. Attempts will be made to reschedule you in a future course (for the number of weeks that you did not attend) but there are no guarantees there will be space available and you will be scheduled only on a space-available basis.
- Missed classes may need to be made up and there are no refunds for missed classes. (See attendance policy)
- ALL applied credit must be used within one year of the original registration date.
SELF-PACED COURSE POLICY
- Self-paced classes must be completed within six months of registration. Failure to do so will result in your removal from all MARN Facebook groups plus you’d be required to restart the course from the beginning should you chose to complete the training in the future.
- If you have registered with a split payment and you withdraw from the course, you are still responsible to pay for the entire course. This is because the space in a course (that you took) was reserved for you (and denied someone else who could’ve paid for that spot. Attempts will be made to reschedule you in a future course (for the number of weeks that you did not attend) but there are no guarantees there will be space available and you will be scheduled only on a space-available basis.

MARN CANCELLATION POLICY
- IF MARN STAFF CANCELS A COURSE, you may register for another course at the same price at no extra cost.
ONSITE TRAINING, SEMINARS, AND BOOT CAMPS
Naturally, no one books with the intention of canceling or postponing their training, but unexpected things do happen, so please purchase travel cancellation insurance once you have made your registration if this is an on-site training you will be attending. With most agencies, insurance must be purchased within 14 days of making your reservation. If you cancel your trip, MARN can not offer refunds for any reason. Please carefully consider your schedule, commitment to training, and your dog before registering for class. Our class sizes are small to ensure quality. By enrolling, you are reserving a space. We will gladly transfer your credit to another participant of your choosing.
Depending on when you cancel, cancellation penalties may apply. This policy is without exception, and necessary because of our contractual obligations.
Fees are determined by the following schedule:
- If you cancel more than 90 days (3 months) before the start date, 50% of your payment may be applied to another training hosted by MARN on a space-available basis.
- If you cancel less than 90 days before the start date, you will forfeit your entire payment or may substitute another participant for a $25 registration fee.
- We do not offer credit for a guest arriving late or leaving early.
- You must submit your signed Participant Agreement form prior to the start of the event. Guests who fail to do so may be subject to an automatic cancellation and the above policy will apply.
MARN is not responsible for your expenses incurred in preparation for any canceled event, such as airline tickets, loss of work, and/or other costs associated with preparing for your training.
If MARN must cancel a booked date for any reason, you may transfer your full payment to another training, or you may request a refund of your payment to us, constituting a full settlement.
INSURANCE
Please be sure that your insurance policy covers you for all training as there will be activities involving running, handling excited dogs on long leads, the use of traps and other equipment, and traversing different terrains.
